On Sunday 26th and Monday 27th May on the May Bank Holiday weekend, social enterprise and Start Up Loans Delivery Partners, Positive Inclusions, headed down with the Rich Visions Small Business team to the amazing hair and beauty extravaganza of Afro Hair and Beauty Live that happens every year and has done for 31 years. This year it took place in the renowned North London venue of the Business Design Centre in Islington.
We were treated to an array of creativity, fashion shows, workshops, debates and seminars ranging on topics from natural hair, hair nourishment products, weaves, wigs, and various products to do with that. The event was hosted by current Miss Jamaica UK recipient Gemma Feare and award-winning poet/rapper/storyteller Alim Kamara. Both hosts did a stellar job and had a really good camaraderie that really made the whole weekend gel and come together in a beautiful solid way.
On our stand, we were generating a lot of interest by talking to young people about the benefits of the government-backed scheme Start Up Loans which Positive Inclusions are Delivery Partners for, in conjunction with us.
We were just proud to have been a part of it in terms of the PR campaign and we wish them another joyous year next year as events like these are really needed to cater to an ever-expanding audience – what a successful event!
Here are some early reviews from the event…
