The RV team and I would like to thank both our guests and speakers for their contribution to the Money and Marketing Seminar Part 4. Although the turnout wasn’t the best, the atmosphere was invaluable! Here’s what we covered:

Rockefeller made headlines in the week for their move into Bitcoin.

Dr Sunny Ahonsi of My Money Management Team advised delegates the ways in which they could create a separate income for their business.

This involved listing a variety of exchanges to open; each one containing their respective benefits.

They were also shown alternative altcoins to invest in. Ripple and Litecoin were at the top of the recommendation list.

“I heard on the news Bitcoin was holding at $7000.

“As a sole-trader, I’m not quite ready to invest such a large sum of capital with no protection.

“Dr Sunny, however, has assured me that My Money Management can oversee trading on my behalf using tips from industry experts.

“I’ve seen the recommendation on Dr Sunny’s LinkedIn and I’m convinced he’s the real deal” – Martial, 32.

Business Funding and Finance

The guests were pumped and raring for the second leg of this Money and Marketing master class. This segment was presented by Reg and myself. We started off talking about funding options.

It’s believed that 80% of small businesses get rejected for a business loan by traditional banks (OnDeck, 2016). More entrepreneurs are choosing to crowdsource their funding: Kickstarter and Patreon are the two most notable companies. However, it takes an exceptional product, or innovation, to encourage strangers to invest.

This is why I suggest delegates use alternative lenders to secure funding. Recognisable names include Startup Direct and Virgin Start Up: You can find out more about their process and interest rates here. Rich Visions offer the relevant services to make sure your application is ‘ready’ for approval!

Delegates were later asked to write down the most important area of business they need help with personally. The activity was well-received. The most popular services listed were: business mentoring; plans, marketing and hiring staff. This helped us to conduct our business surgery efficiently. This goes to show any business owner can conduct qualitative research; it just starts with a question!

Referencing Chapter 3 from her new book, Small Business Sales Dilemmas, Janet Efere of Tadpole Training gave exhibitors a master class on LinkedIn.

She outlined the importance of one’s LinkedIn headline; proving you can increase leads with a quirky, informative headline. She said: “The benefits of using an effective headline will bring you greater networking opportunities or even greater visibility in your industry.”

PR And Publicity

Let’s face it; today’s business market is extremely competitive. Everyone’s striving for attention. From a consumer’s perspective, it can be quite overwhelming. Iola C. Williams at 11:11 Communications explained to exhibitors how they can stand out from their competitors. She highlighted that communication has to match one’s personal, business and professional success: “I may be old-school, but its good gesture to reply to an email or text message you’ve received

“Some business owners deem it unnecessary to reply to messages they consider insignificant.

“Even if this doesn’t translate into a lead, a courteous reply will create a positive image for both yourself and your brand.”

That wraps up our event. Details for any upcoming events will be posted on both our Twitter (@RichVisions_SB) and official website.
