Business of The Month: Digital 360

Business Name: Business 360
Sector:
Other
Region: Greater London
Managing Director: Dwayne Ferguson

1. Explain your business in thirty seconds.

We provide premium quality designs for end-to-end digital solutions from websites, branding to mobile apps and digital marketing and everything in between.

We take on your digital design and marketing requirements as if we were part of your own business, with friendly account management that speaks your language.

2. Where are you based and why is it a good location for your business?

We have a virtual office based in Shoreditch, but we are really based wherever the client is. In this digital age, a physical office is not always necessary. We have a design team in Madrid, Spain and a technical team in Minsk, Belarus. We are all connected digitally 365 which means we are flexible to go wherever the client is.

There are no limitations to where we can work and who we can work or partner with.

3. How did you come up with the idea for Digital 360?

I have been in digital since the very early days of the Internet. Even before Amazon and Internet Explorer.

My first business was a traditional design agency based out of an office in Islington. Even then, I believed that a good digital partner should set you free to focus on your core business.

If you are a solicitor or baker, you should not have to know anything about digital, but you should trust implicitly in the integrity, quality and the competence of your digital partner. It always annoys me when I see professionals in other disciplines trying to get their hands dirty in designing their own website.

In order to do so with any degree of success, you need to be steeped in digital. It is not something you can just turn your hand to.

4. Do you have a mentor? And if so, how have they helped you?

No, unfortunately when I started I was on my own, I am still looking for one.

5. What is your biggest achievement so far?

I like to engage with my customers for the long term. That is why I created the Business Creation Project. We help professionals to create a business around their expertise. The website will be launched next month, businesscreationproject.com for new applications.

One of my clients runs an import/export business, he asked me to create a very specific mobile app to collect import duty and VAT for items brought online outside of the EU.

In the end, we built a complete end to end payment system consisting of a website payment portal and a mobile app for Apple and Android phones and tablets.

The app was so successful in what it was designed to do that the global delivery company DPD now use a DPDgroup branded version to collect duties and VAT all across Europe and the UK. We have even licensed it to collect duties in Canada.

We also have interest from other international companies to do the same. I still run the aspect of the company for him.

6. What’s next for your business?

The Business Creation Project is my new baby. We have already worked with three entrepreneurs to build their businesses from scratch all of which will be showcased on the new site.

I am keen to work with new professionals from different sectors to build robust digital brands and businesses. Remember this simple saying, If you don’t have a digital business, you don’t have a business. Mobile and social are the new front doors to every brand in both business to business and business to consumer models. I want people to consider the truth and the implications of that statement. The way things are headed in terms of AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain and IOT, a decent website and professional branding is now the very minimum you need to succeed.

I love to talk about digital technology and anyone can contact call me to discuss ideas and projects over a coffee; I think I am very addicted to coffee lol.
